Would that be to get his daily salary off the cap right now

Yes and no - they got him off the cap by sending him down before 5 but they didn't wind up recalling him to be the 12th forward tomorrow (they went with Andrighetto instead).  As a result, this is just a regular demotion.

Edit: On second thought, this could simply be a 'conditioning stint'.  Since Hudon has been off for a couple of weeks, they send him down to play the 2-in-2 in St. John's on Friday/Saturday and then flip him back up and Andrighetto down after.

Seeing reports that both Galchenyuk and Desharnais will be out for 6-8 weeks. John Shannon speculates that it will be after the All-Star break :-(

Altogether, repeat after me " They just have to play .500 hockey from now until...".

Shitty, shit shit!!!  I can't believe the injury bug is gonna screw with this team again. Last year was price and Gallagher and this year its Chucky...just when the kid was starting to show signs of superstardom!

I hope we can play .500 hockey for the next 8 weeks. We were already pretty thin down the middle, but now it's like we're gonna be struggling to beat the worst teams in the league.  This really pisses me off! ######ing hockey Gods!!
