Let's see if the habs can play 2 games in a row You can add Caufield while subtracting someone like Byron who doesn't have offence, and have both Drouin and Caufield in the lineup. This isn't Drouin or Caufield, why not have both.

Habs Fan in Edmonton
I haven't given up on Drouin but I can't figure out why someone with his skating ability and pucks skills has the same number of goals as Joel Edmundson? Is he lazy? Is his confidence shot? Is he saving it for the playoffs? I hope it's door #3.
Commandant
He's snakebit. His career shooting percentage is 9% His shooting percentage this season is 2.6%. It can happen over short sample sizes but should eventually return to the mean. I feel like he needs to get one for his confidence and then he will get a few. That said, he's always been more a playmaker than goalscorer.

The Chicoutimi Cucumber
You guys crack me up. Drouin is the same as he's always been, a talented #6 FW who consistently manages to be less than the sum of his parts. I've seen loads of these guys come and go over the years, and it's always the same. Tons of fans ripping their hair out - how can he be so mediocre with all that skill? Or, he just needs to put it all together. Not gonna happen. He's a 26-year-old, 5-year veteran. He will have hot spells where he looks great. The rest of the time he will be a disappointment. Basically, he's Andrei Kostitsyn. Once we all move to acceptance, we will all be happier.

I'm just saying he's not the player you healthy scratch to get Caufield into the lineup. As much as he is disappointing, he's far from the least valuable winger on the team. He did score 21 goals in 73 games as a 21 year old. Maybe he is one of those players who will do better away from glare and scrutiny that comes with playing in Montreal. He might light it up in Seattle where there will be far less pressure.

But Drouin is more of a #6 than Lehks or Byron

He has a dumb play or 5 every game, just 2a in last 13games, he isnt big on defending, so he should likely be demoted; but not sure is ever gonna happen. We are stuck with him at least for the remainder of this year. It’s not just his damn floating and laziness. But his late penalties could have cost us the game on Wednesday. We are a score by committee lineup and that means we have to ensure we at least have all lines have some sort of THREAT to score. At the start of the year the DD line sucked and we were relying Suzuki was rolling and KK was lukewarm. Later Suzuki and KK struggled and DD finally scored and his line was contributing. As much as I want to get rid of Drouin. We have to have him at least as an option with Gallagher already out. I still think this is the beat chance we are going to have, if we go back to the Atlantic division next year we are going to be hard pressed to make the playoffs. Price and Weber are both in decline. This year we don’t have the top end talent, or players that can take over a game like Toronto, Edmonton, or even Winnipeg have. I think we are also outmatched in goaltending by Winnipeg. On Defense, I think the while conference sucks - and that helps us. Can you imagine Toronto, Edmonton, or Winnipeg, if they had a solid D?Where we have a chance is that we have scoring depth (that has dried up of late). We have. I idea what we’ll get from Price - he clearly is not someone who you can say gives us a clear edge like he did in 2014. He may be very good, may be good enough, or he may be erratic and we have to rely on Allen. But we should at least get decent to good goaltending from Price/Allen and like I said, the only team that clearly has better goaltending than us is Winnipeg. for us to succeed we have to have Taffoli, Anderson, Gallagher, Perry, Armia and the much maligned Drouin contributing. I look at Caufield as a bonus, if he is able to contribute. But I don’t want to go into the playoffs having to rely on a 20 year-old to be a saviour. Give him a chance, if he shows his ready and can contribute - great, but to rely on him to be the one that over the top would be foolish. In the off-season, all bets are off. The regardless of how we do in the playoffs, there are some players you trade - Drouin being one of them - even if he dies well - if anything he should have a higher trade value). You make those changes with a vengeance and go the Corleone scorched earth approach to all those have failed to live up to expectations and have disrespected the habs family with their lazy ass play, or because they simply are not worth their salary. And no I’m not willing to pay the captain $8m to be a leader if he can’t play like a $8m dman.

habs#4,9,10,33
I went with Anderson, he brings a lot more to the team then his goals and total points production. his physical presence, flying all over the ice, big hits, fighting when he has to which offers confidence for the rest of the team. great elite power forward and can see him wearing a A for his workmanship and leadership qualities when Byron eventually leaves.

Sorry, not sorry. No disrespect @Commandant but I think @Chris sorta has a point. ex: Danault is in the top 15 of the top defensive C's in the NHL - 5 on 5. That info is true but it's sort of a logical fallacy or the 5 on 5 bit wouldnt need to added to make that statement true. Again with Danault, his lack of offence is overlooked due to his defensive prowess. Nothing wrong with that. However, with Gustafsson, who is defensively inept and has almost elite offensive prowess but that doesnt matter due to his defensive flaws. Thats basically an opposite but identical scenario. Again with Gustafsson, its a fact he was picked up for a 7th and the Flyers retained some of his salary. However, he wasnt working out in Philly who are on a non playoff team, and he had been a healthy scratch and wasnt coming back. The Flyers were on the hook for all of his salary, and now pay just part of it. Last year he was the Hawks highest scoring dman and the Flames paid a 3rd rounder for him. The Flyers had no leverage to warrant anybody offering more than a 7th. Ex: MB calls Philly says: "I want Gustafsson"; Philly: sure, we want a 5th; MB: no way, you arent even a playoff team and he's scratched"; Philly: ok, a 6th; MB: no thanks; Philly" are you still there? we'll take a 7th"; MB: "ok sounds good" was likely the conversation as to why the Habs got him for a 7th. @Commandant definitely uses facts, but I dont agree with all of his conclusions. Fanpuck33
Has anyone heard much about teams being vaccinated? Only team I've heard discuss it has been Vegas. I wonder if teams are now vaccinated and that plays into being able to go forward with a game on the same day as a positive test.

I think the Rangers have - they cancelled practice a week or so ago to go. I suspect the Florida-based teams are (based on the fact the Blue Jays, currently based in Florida, were able to get one). I think Dallas is as well. There are others but I haven't been keeping track. In Canada, no, players have not been vaccinated. Some coaches/older staff members may have been but the age for who can get it is still older than most players.
