Have you ever seen worse defensive zone  coverage?.  This is a head scratcher.

Wow. Even if you're in a full on rebuild you don't want to see that level of foolishness. Everyone seemed to forget that there was a goal that they're defending.

You can see why this is the year for Calgary to go for it as they will have some tough decisions in the off season.  Mathew Tkachuk (RFA)  Johnny Goudreau (FA) and Andrew Mangiapane  (RFA) are all having career years.  Good timing for them but not so good for the Flames.  The Tkachuk's have always been tough negotiators.

"The Montreal Canadiens’ season has been filled with such bad luck on the injury front that they’ve broken a nearly 20-year-old record previously held by the 03-04 Los Angeles Kings for the most amount of games lost to injury.

The previous record was a total of 629 games lost, which the Canadiens have now easily surpassed that mark as they sit at 700 games lost to injury..."

As easy as it is to dump on this team, this fact simply can't be ignored when assessing the season.

Yep. The team MB assembled was better than it showed…I saw them as a bubble team, and while we can quibble over whether they were that, or clearly below the bubble, there’s no way they should have been the worst Habs team in history. Price’s issues, other injuries, terrible coaching, and a player rebellion all conspired to yield that outcome.

these middling teams, some with an aging core group, are ripe as trade partners with the Habs if the Has can help them "go for it one last time"

I do not fully understand how Weber's LTIR status changes from season to season (if he can come to training camp, get an exam and be declared LTIR or if it carries over); but, if the Habs can clear Weber's salary and Petrys... they may be able to use the gained cap space for trades with these teams

There isn't really any saved cap space with a Weber trade.  He's either on the books in full and the Habs are deep into using LTIR space as an offset or he's off the books entirely.  Either way, their actual amount of spending room doesn't materially change.

As long as they can put Weber on LTIR then it  doesn't affect their spending room, I see that. I don't know what hoops they have to jump through to make sure he qualifies for LTIR, probably cleaner if you can get rid of the contract entirely assuming the cost to do that is not prohibitive.

And its stuff like this why women’s hockey will always struggle with legitimacy and being taken seriously by some fans.

And for others it is possible to separate the two.

Lol any evidence for that, or are you just telling on yourself that you can't un-sexualize a female athlete?

I never imagined that those pictures would be useful for something, but here we are.

Its Tyler Seguin, Joe Thornton, and Brent Burns for anyone wondering.  From various issues of ESPN: The Body magazine

Kept trying to come up with some witty comment, but ....any & all stripper/porn-star/augmentation reference likely not go over well these days.:tumbleweed:

She is pretty.

Can Habs manage 6 more losses? Need MORE AHLers on roster, sit anyone not feeling like playing (Looking at you- #26, wanna sit out and eat some hot dogs, or call it a season early perhaps?)

I know they're trying to make up for having a lack of seating but they can barely fill half of their current arena with prices at a fraction of these.  Plus, they're basically going to be an AHL-calibre team next year.  I can't see a bunch of people lining up to pay this to watch them on a regular basis.  If the STH prices are that high, their cheapest single-game ticket has to be even more.

Coyotes are such an embarrassment to the league. Put them in Quebec where they belong.

Agree that they are an embarrassment. Part of me respects Bettman’s sheer pig-headed determination to make Arizona work, but they should have thrown in the towel years ago.

Don’t agree that they belong in Quebec. I want the Nordiques to stay good and dead for all eternity, as befits those scumbags. Move the ‘Yotes to Kansas City or somewhere like that.
