TurdBurglar
Interestingly enough, after wanting to be the highest paid goalie in the NHL to "reset the goalie market," Shesterkin turned down a 8 year $11m AAV contract that would of made him the highest paid goalie ever in the NHL. it would of made him the highest paid player in the NHL per game played, as goalies are expected to play less game a season than other roster players. Per game.played? Sure. Per ice time .. goalies play far more than forwards or D. And that contract based on the cap is significantly less than price/lundqvist got.

(Since that's the draft pick they're probably getting to complete the Monahan trade.) We need them to lose games. Now Montreal will get a highly annoyed and motivated Boston squad on Thursday as well.

I would have taken him too and I figured Hughes would. Pelletier is a 1st rnd pick, from Quebec, young, and he's a 2019 draftee. Hughes has been collecting guys from that class. Plus, other 5'9" or less guys poached from the Flames have turned out fairly decent. ex: Byron, MSL.

And I agree it feels like a bad sign for the OIlers. 1 hour ago, DON said: What exactly is the track record for all these talking heads, who make these predictions every year? The Oil went to Game 7 last year, however...they've had all the right growing pains, they have the Big Two and a D corps that is now acceptable. tThey're a sensible pick. I can't see FLA repeating. They've just played too many brutal minutes over the past two seasons. Stars, Hurricanes, Avs, Rags, Leafs all have to be taken seriously. After that, I get less sure... Habs Fan in Edmonton
I know it's very very early but maybe, just maybe the Flames won't be as bad as many think. Maybe Huberdeau will have a bounce back year and they will be good enough to finish 11-14 from the bottom. Here's hoping. I have never been a mini Flames fan before but I just might be this year. For purely selfish reasons of course.

For a goalie with less than 20 games in the NHL, that's a massive ask. Their goaltending duo has about 100 games between them.

Certainly Wolf will play a key role plus some of the defensemen that they acquired in trades (ie. Bahl, Bean) will have to come through. They do have 2 excellent anchors on the back end in Weegar and Anderson. I still think they finish bottom 10 but last night might be a good sign as coming back from a 3 goal deficit is an indication they are eager and ready. It's a long season though.

TurdBurglar
Lavoie has been waived and picked up by Vegas and Edmonton twice each. Since Vegas was the only team to put a waiver claim on him this time, he can be directly assigned to the AHL.

Perhaps each side had agreed to this back and forth but I think Edmonton wanted him.
Commandant
My opinion is that since he was originally an edmonton player, vegas should either have to keep him on the main roster or let edmonton send him to the AHL. This claiming back and forth to stick him in Henderson seems like it should be against the rules. Although i guess its not.
