Like we probably should move like 2 more dmen?

Matthesson-Guhle

Harris-Savard

Xhejak-Barron

Struble-Mailloux

Hutson-Reinbacher

Average NHL team will play 10 or more NHL d-men every year.

So cant see 2 of this group moving, especially when 3 havent even played NHL yet (1game dont count.. see Poehling:D).

But, moving 1 seems likely will happen, i hope is part of a bigger package for good young forward and not for more picks.

I think that Mailloux will get a chance to make the NHL roster at camp.

I would have Guhle on the left side, IMHO:

Matheson-Savard

Guhle-Barron

Xhekaj-Harris

Struble,Mailloux

---

Hutson, Reinbacher

Well I figure they will sign a vet to be the 7th unless they rotate Xhejak-Barron-Struble.

I just think guys like Harris, Strubble and Barron may not increase in value. Might be a good time to move a couple. Then bring in a vibes 7th d vet to help in practice and jump in sometimes.

Matthesson-Guhle

Harris-Savard

Xhejak-Barron

Vet 7th

I'm just concerned about ahl minutes.

Struble-Mailloux

Hutson-Reinbacher

Engstrom-VET

Trudeau

Just awkward for minutes through the organization. They need a good solid vet d in ahl for stability and teaching too.

They already had Kovacevic for 7D and traded him, so that doesn't really seem like the plan.

Looking at the market. I don't think I want any forwards except Stamkos on no more than 2 years max 3 or maybe Arvidsson on a 1 year show me deal coming off and big injury.

Stamkos looks like $8 x 4 in Nashville.  I suspect Arvidsson will get more than a year but he'd be an interesting option if he wants a one-year pillow deal to try to rebuild some value.

Savard cannot be our top pairing RHD.

Yeah I expect them to keep Guhle there.

Matheson - Guhle

is locked in and then the rest of the pairs are gonna be battles.

Not ideal to chase a playoff spot ... but unless Guhle stays there, it is likely expecting too much for any of the other youngsters to play with Matheson, who averaged 18:54 at even strength last season, at least to start the season ... Savard may well be the best option (other than Guhle) ... but I see this as another development season for the youngsters, so it wouldn't bother me if it happens ... I agree with @Commandant that Guhle is likley to stay there ... that also allows room for whatever combination of Engström, Hutson, Struble and Xhekaj on the left-side of the 2nd/3rd pairings as the season progresses.

Not sure if was discussed already, but Oilers asked Kane to waive his NMC.  I could see a fit in Montreal for the last year of his deal.  With the Jeff Skinner signing, they are at the cap with Holloway and Broberg to sign still.  They should be extra motivated to move him.  This is assuming Kane waives his NMC to goto Montreal.

ON-ICE he could be a good fit ... but there was "talk" that he wore out his welcome during last season in Edmonton ... if true, would he be on good behaviour for a year in Montréal?

Could be a one-year "bridge" for the Top 6.

I was going to say almost exactly the same thing. He was on thin ice at times in Edmonton last year. I just don't think Hughes would be interested.
